Like to watch the sun set over the Atlantic? Or wander barefoot on the white sands of a deserted beach? Or watch a Golden Eagle being mobbed by two ravens? Or catch half a dozen mackerel and have them grilled for supper? We could go on. But you get the idea. Maybe you'd rather do nothing at all?

You can do all these things at Uig Lodge.

Built in 1876 by Sir James Matheson the lodge later passed into the hands of Lord Leverhulme who subsequently presented it to his niece as a wedding present.  Perhaps he couldn't find a fondue set?

130 years later the beauty of the location remains unchanged but the interior of the Lodge has been transformed; retaining the Victorian character of the building whilst providing our guests with all the modern comforts that the discerning traveler might require.

After a breakfast of Dr Johnsonian proportions the rest of the day is yours. A unique day. A day that can never be repeated.   You might do any of the things mentioned above or try your hand at trout fishing, or visit the local distillery or finish writing that poem you started years ago. There's something in the air here. Did we mention the 9 hole golf course?

Take a packed lunch and come back at 4 o'clock for afternoon tea and home baking. We serve excellent 3 course evening meals around one large table in the dining room. We are licensed and have some delicious wines. All rooms have hostess tray with tea and coffee facilities. Uig Lodge is not a hotel, it's a home from home.

We are mainly let to exclusive use groups but do have some dedicated bed and breakfast dates this autumn so please get in touch for more information.

We have a 2 night minimum stay.

Well-behaved and clean dogs are allowed in your room with prior notice and charged at £10 per dog per night. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room or sitting room.

Current dates available in 2021 are:

25th September - 16th October

Double ensuite from £205 per night

Twin ensuite: from £180 per night

Twin with separate private bathroom from £160 per night

Evening meals: Uig Sands Restaurant is open in September for dinner Wednesday - Saturday evenings from 4pm and in October Thursday - Saturday evenings from 4pm.  It is approximately 900metres from the lodge and booking is essential - you can book at www.uigsands.co.uk

In the lodge we also offer evening meals on that nights that Uig Sands Restaurant is closed and these must be booked in advance. We are licensed and hold a good selection of wines, beers and spirits. Dinner is 7.30pm.

Allergies and dietary requirements: we will try our best to accommodate everyone but we must have prior notice.
