Here at Uig Lodge we have been hand producing ethical , delicious and natural smoked salmon since 1984. We only use prime Scottish salmon from RSPCA accredited farms and we produce our unique Scottish smoked salmon in our in house smoke house.
The curing process in the smoke house ensures that we produce world class smoked salmon in terms of taste, texture and flavour. This is not a mass produced product but an independent family run business that prides its self on an artisan approach.
You may ask, what makes Scottish smoked salmon so different? The secret is in ensuring that we don’t overstock or buy from overstocked salmon farms. When the salmon have freedom of movement and are not all crowded together , they can swim freely and this ensures that their muscles develop further. This means that the Salmon texture and flavour is improved from the exercise and this adds to your overall taste experience.
Also, here in Scotland we know how to export food and drink products of the highest quality. Whisky is one of our major exports and that experience and high standard has stood us in good stead.
