Dickon & Elly

Dickon and Elly run Uig Lodge and live on the island with their family. They took over the estate from Malcolm and Barry Green, Dickon's father and uncle. They have stayed many times in the Lodge themselves, having plenty of fun with friends and family! Elly is passionate about conservation and loves a long walk on one of the surrounding beaches, whilst Dickon is keen on all things fly fishing.

History

Perched on the rugged shores of the Isle of Lewis, Uig Lodge is rich in history, heritage, and family past. Built in 1876 by Sir James Matheson, the lodge later became part of the grand vision of Lord Leverhulme, who owned the island and gifted the property to his niece, Emily Macdonald, as a wedding present in 1923. Over the decades, Uig Lodge passed through the hands of the Dobson family and briefly operated as a hotel before Malcolm and Barry Green acquired it in 1981. Today, the lodge remains in the Green family, with Dickon and Elly Green at the helm

Looking through the family albums, it feels like little has changed! Our guests continue to enjoy fly-fishing, beach barbecues, and outings on the loch.
